ANOVA - Analysis of Variance

An Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) is a procedure that allows you to test how well a model fits the data - it provides a statistic called an F-ratio which can be checked for statistical significance.

ANOVA's can be used for a number of purposes outside of regression such as checking for significant differences between the mean scores of different groups or categories on a given dependent variable.

Alternative Hypothesis

The Alternative hypothesis is the prediction that there is a relationship or effect in evidence in your study. The opposite of the Alternative hypothesis is the Null Hypothesis.
