This introduction uses the data from exemplar 1, but is relevant to any exemplar. (1) You will need to be on a computer or a network with the SPSS package installed.. (2 ) Double click on the link to the SPSS data set (e.g. exp1.sav) for the exemplar you want to try. In a few seconds you will see the SPSS data editor window. (3 ) The variable view gives you details for each variable. (4) You can run SPSS from menus. for example you can get a table by household type from the analyze menu >tables >frequencies. When you do this you will get an output window with your results. |
(5) The complex survey commands (if you have it licensed) are available at the bottom of the analyze menu.
(6) You can use the SPSS syntax fille with prepared code for your exemplar. Click on the stmtax file (e.g. ex1.SPS ) from the table in the exemplar you want to try. Resize your windows so that you can see the command window, the output window and perhaps a small version of the data window. Follow the instructions in the syntax file to run the code.
