Exemplar 5 - Preprocessing

The data from Ayr and Arran Health survey will shortly be made available on the web (add link later).

- The SAS code to read the original data and produce ex5.sas7bdat as well as a text fileex5.txt and an excel file v ex5_prep.sas .
- The R commands to read the text file into R and produce ex5.Rdata is in:ex5_prep.R.
- The Stata do file to read the text file into Stata and produce ex5.dta is in:ex5_prep.do.
The SPSS syntax file to read the text file into SPSS and produce ex5.sav is in:ex5_prep.do.

The data sets (in bold ) mentioned here are restricted to the variables needed for these analyses. They can all be accessed from the main page of exemplar 5.

The data for re-weighting the survey were compiled from census data obtained from GRO Scotland of populations in age-sex bands by data zone and from tables prepared for the corresponding data compiled from he survey respondents. This data set is available for all packages and also as an EXCEL spreadsheet ex5.xls .
